I have been diagnosed within the past 7 months to have A-Fib. Part of the treatment is to be prescribed a blood thinner. The blood thinner that I was prescribed was Eliquis 5mg. I was told it was expensive. When I picked up my prescription, my cost with my insurance was $360.00 for one month supply. If I didn't have insurance the cost would have been $750.00. I asked if there was a generic available and I was told no. A friend suggested that I call Drug Mart Direct because he gets his generic Eliquis from you and his doctor says it is doing what a blood thinner is suppose to do. The generic Eliquis is called Apixaban. The cost for one year of Apixaban is the same as one month of Eliquis. Shame on the USA pharmaceutical system.
